Although you may think that there is plenty of time, in reality Graudation sneaks up FAST! There is a lot to plan for and one important item is the all important party for your graduate.
|
When space and budget is limited,it can be tough to plan for this important event: the Graduation Party. However, much can be done on a shoestring budget and some innovative planning. If you don't have enough space in your home, and you're afraid the weather might interfere with a yard party, consider calling on the small towns in the area for a rental of the community center. Small towns seldom charge an outrageous price and most community centers do have electrical hookups and kitchens! Church basements are usually available also on the same rental basis. Decorations? fresh flowers... especially the kind you pick yourself! Balloons, crepe paper, and cheap party supplies can present a great atmosphere and don't need to dig deep into the pocket book. You don't need to hire a band. with Ipods and boom boxes, plenty of modern music is available these days! The most important thing about the graduation party should not be how much you want to impress the Jones's but how much you want to HONOR YOUR GRADUATE!

THE MEMORY BOOK Seems hard to believe but the kids these days really DO go for the "memory book" theme and most parties have expanded the theme to a large collection of School memories scattered over a tastefully decorated "memory table"...where everything from first grade dance trophies to the petrified wood from the fourth grade science trip..to the left over crutch when your kid broke his leg..to the high school athletic letter...all are there for the kids to sort through, exclaim over, and remember. So get your collection started! You may have to call on grandmas and aunts and uncles to dig into their attics and basements for some of the memorabilia. Above all, when it's over and all the party go-ers have left the scene, don't just put things back individually..keep the collection together and store it together...you can drag it out again at a fiftieth high school reunion!
